Mavericks vs. Grizzlies Prediction, Best Bet, Latest NBA Summer League Odds - Monday, July 13th

Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies odds have Memphis listed as a 9.5-point favorite for Monday’s NBA Summer League matchup on ESPN. Cameron Boozer and the Grizzlies have the stronger early résumé, but Morez Johnson Jr. and the Mavericks have enough young talent to make +9.5 worth attacking in Las Vegas.

Mavericks vs. Grizzlies Prediction: Can Mavs Turn Around Slow Summer League Start Against Cameron Boozer and Memphis?

The Dallas Mavericks face the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, July 13, at 7 PM ET on ESPN in Las Vegas. Memphis is a 9.5-point favorite at -470 on the moneyline, while Dallas is +9.5 with a +350 moneyline price and the total is set at 180.5.

The spread is the central story. Dallas is 0-2 and has lost by an average of 16 points per game, falling 101-90 to Golden State and 91-70 to the Lakers. That explains why Memphis is laying a big number, but double-digit spreads in Summer League are always dangerous because rotations are fluid, late-game minutes are unpredictable and one hot quarter from a young creator can flip the cover quickly.

Mavericks vs. Grizzlies Prediction

Dallas’ case starts with Morez Johnson Jr., the Mavericks’ new lottery frontcourt piece. Johnson opened Summer League with 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks against Golden State, then followed with 10 points, five rebounds, four blocks and two steals against the Lakers. The efficiency and team results dipped in Game 2, but the defensive production has translated immediately, and his physicality gives Dallas a real answer against Memphis’ frontcourt size.

Ryan Nembhard also gives the Mavericks a stabilizing guard. He had 15 points and 11 assists against Golden State, then led Dallas with 12 points and five assists against the Lakers. That matters against a Grizzlies team that can pressure mistakes, because Nembhard’s ability to organize possessions is Dallas’ best route to avoiding another runaway loss.

Memphis has the best player in this matchup in Cameron Boozer. The No. 3 pick averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and four assists while shooting 65% from the field and 62.5% from 3-point range in Salt Lake City, then put up 23 points, six rebounds and four assists in Memphis’ 97-96 win over Chicago in Las Vegas. He already looks polished as a scorer, passer and rebounder, which is why the Grizzlies are being priced like the clearly better team.

The Grizzlies also have more support around Boozer than just one top pick. Cedric Coward delivered a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double against Chicago, while Javon Small added 15 points and three assists. Olivier-Maxence Prosper has also been productive earlier in Summer League action, giving Memphis a deeper and more balanced group than Dallas has shown through two games.

Still, this number is inflated enough to back the underdog. Memphis deserves to be favored, but Dallas has already gotten strong individual flashes from Johnson and Nembhard, and those are the exact player types that can keep a Summer League game inside a big spread. Johnson’s rim protection and rebounding should help prevent Boozer from fully controlling the paint, while Nembhard gives the Mavericks enough half-court organization to avoid long empty stretches.

Mavericks vs. Grizzlies Best Bet

The best path is not asking Dallas to win outright. It is asking Johnson, Nembhard and the Mavericks to respond after two poor team results and keep this within single digits. In a Summer League setting, +9.5 is too many points against a Dallas team with a top-10 pick, a real table-setting guard and clear motivation to avoid a third straight blowout.
