The Oklahoma City Thunder face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, July 14, at 9 PM ET on ESPN in Las Vegas. Oklahoma City is a 1.5-point favorite at -118 on the moneyline, while Denver is +1.5 with a -104 moneyline price and the total is set at 179.5.
This is a short number, but the spot favors Oklahoma City. The Thunder are 0-2 in Summer League, including a blowout loss to a loaded Warriors team, and that kind of start creates urgency for a young roster still trying to establish rhythm. Denver has been more stable on the board, but the market is still giving Oklahoma City the slight edge despite its winless start.

Nuggets vs. Thunder Prediction
Bennett Stirtz is the key offensive swing piece for the Thunder. He has not shot the ball at his best yet, but his ability to organize possessions, create off the bounce and control tempo should translate better as the rotation settles. Summer League guards often need a few games to adjust to spacing, pace and defensive pressure, and this is a natural rebound spot for him.
Aday Mara gives Oklahoma City a major interior presence. His size, touch and rim protection can change the game if the Thunder are more deliberate about getting him involved early. Against Denver, Mara’s ability to finish around the basket and deter drives should help Oklahoma City avoid the defensive breakdowns that hurt it in the first two games.
Otega Oweh is another name who can push the Thunder forward. His athleticism, defensive pressure and transition game give Oklahoma City a needed energy source, especially in a matchup where effort and pace can swing the result. If Oweh turns defense into easier offense, the Thunder should be able to separate enough to cover a small spread.
Denver can absolutely keep this competitive, which is why the line is sitting under a full possession. The Nuggets have enough young talent to test Oklahoma City’s half-court defense, and Summer League games can flip quickly when rotations get deep in the second half. Still, the Thunder have more urgency, more obvious internal improvement available and enough individual talent to avoid an 0-3 start.

- Pick: Thunder -1.5 (-110) Click here to get the best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
The best-bet case is built on a bounce-back angle. Oklahoma City has already taken the early punches of Summer League, and a narrow -1.5 spread only asks the Thunder to win the game. With Stirtz due for a better shooting night, Mara positioned to impact the paint and Oweh capable of raising the defensive intensity, Oklahoma City is the side to back.
