La Familia took Game 1 of this series 72-68 after building a 17-point advantage and surviving The Ville’s late comeback. Darryl Morsell led the Kentucky alumni with 17 points, Andrew Harrison scored 14 and Sean McNeil added 12. Chris Jones paced The Ville with 16, but Louisville shot only 6-of-28 from beyond the arc and missed multiple opportunities during the Elam Ending.
Game 2 produced a completely different matchup. The Ville controlled the paint, defended with greater intensity and rolled to an 82-62 victory, a 20-point margin rather than 14. Harrell scored a TBT career-high 35 points, while Alex Matthews and David Johnson added 14 apiece. Louisville outrebounded La Familia 43-30 and held the Kentucky alumni to 33.9% shooting.
Harrell is the defining matchup entering Game 3. La Familia lacks an obvious individual defender capable of handling his strength, activity and interior scoring, particularly after Willie Cauley-Stein exited Game 2 early. Andrew Harrison, Morsell, McNeil and Kahlil Whitney must generate substantially more offense, while Cauley-Stein’s availability and the possible arrival of additional reinforcements could affect the final rotation.
The Ville also have the stronger supporting group around their star. Jones and Johnson can create from the perimeter, Matthews brings defensive energy and Malik Williams provides additional size. Louisville erased a 17-point deficit before narrowly losing Game 1, then dominated Game 2 from the second quarter onward.
