The South Alabama Jaguars and the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns will meet Monday night for the Sun Belt Championship from Pensacola, Florida. March is here, and this is pretty much a tournament game for these two teams. Similar to most nonpower conferences, the Sun Belt is a one-bid conference.

Louisiana vs South Alabama Prediction

The fact that ULL is in the championship is not a surprise to most, as they finished the season as the number two seed in the conference going 13-5 in conference play. The real surprise is the Jaguars.

South Alabama went 19-15 oversell this season but just 9-9 in conference play. That is what makes March so great and so much fun. A team that went 9-9 in a nonpower conference is just forty minutes away from punching their ticket to the big dance. South Alabama took down a solid App State team in round one, and they followed that win up with a massive upset over the number one seed in the conference Southern Miss. They did not just beat Southern Miss; they blew them out badly.

Their most recent win came yesterday in a game they controlled from the tip over James Madison. The star in the conference tournament has been senior guard Isaiah Moore who averaged 18.5 points per game during the regular season. 

I believe that the clock will strike midnight on Cinderella tonight as I believe that Louisiana will win this game. South Alabama has had a great story, but this is an extremely tough spot for them tonight, and I expect them to regress in this spot. Louisiana has had their number this year and matches up well in this game. This is the fourth game in five nights for South Alabama, and I think that plays a role tonight.
