North Carolina State vs. Virginia Tech Prediction: Will the Underdog Cover In ACC Tournament?

The Virginia Tech Hokies and North Carolina State Wolfpack will clash on Wednesday night for a much anticipated second-round matchup in the ACC Tournament. The Hokies shocked the college basketball world last season when they went on a run to win the ACC Tournament and they are hopeful that they can do that same thing again this year.

North Carolina State vs. Virginia Tech Prediction

The only way for the Hokies to punch a ticket to the big dance will be if they somehow win the ACC Tournament. Tech played a wild game last night, where they trailed Notre Dame by four points with less than three minutes to go, but they were able to rally late and keep their season alive.

The Wolfpack come into this game feeling great about their chances tonight. The Wolfpack went 22-9 during the regular season, and they should find themselves in the big dance regardless of the result of this game. The star for NC State is guard Terquavion Smith. Smith is slated to be a first-round pick in the upcoming draft, and if you have watched him play at any time this season, you would understand why. He is a matchup nightmare and can score the ball in multiple ways.

NC State won the only meeting between the two teams back on January 7, when the Wolfpack won 73-69 on the road. The Wolfpack enter this game tonight as a three-point favorite.

I am all over the dog in this spot tonight. Virginia Tech is a much better team than their record indicates, and from a talent standpoint, I actually think that they are the better team. This is a team that has experience playing in this tournament together, so the moment will not be too big for them. Tech dealt with some tough injuries this season, but now they are as healthy as they could be for this game tonight. I expect them to fight and keep this game close and possibly pull off the upset tonight.
