Creighton vs. Xavier Prediction
Creighton comes into this game off of a comfortable win over Villanova last night. Creighton shot the ball well from three, but their defense was the difference in the game. They're a team that a lot of people think can go on a legitimate run due to their outstanding shooting and physical defense.
They have the best defensive player in the conference and they have experienced guards, which is a key feature to have this time of year.
Xavier, meanwhile, feels lucky to be here after being tested by DePaul last night. DePaul led for the majority of the game, but a late run by the Musketeers was enough to get them the win.
Xavier had a great season, and they are slated to be a four or five-seed in the bracket. The star of this Xavier team has been guard Souley Boum, who leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game.
Boum, who is a senior, will need to continue his stealer play if the Musketeers want to go on a March Madness run. Xavier did get some bad news this week, however, when it was announced that star Zach Freemantle would miss the rest of the season. Freemantle was third on the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game. Creighton comes into this game as a three-point favorite.
I am going to sip on some juice and back the Bluejays today. This feels like a great spot for Creighton, who matches up very well against Xavier tonight. The two teams split the season series, both winning at home. These are two very good teams, but I feel as if Creighton is in better form at the moment.
Creighton is a top-ten team in the nation, in my opinion. I expect them to show out today and turn in a big-time performance on center stage. Let’s cash tonight!
