Northwestern vs. Boise State Prediction
Northwestern turned in its best season in a long time and finished in second place in a competitive Big Ten conference. The main reason for the Wildcat's successful season is their guard combination of seniors Boo Buie and Chase Audige. These are the only Wildcats players that average double figures on the team, and they are the heartbeat of this Wildcats team. Northwestern has been exceptional this year on the defensive side of the floor, and it is what they pride themselves on.
Boise State, meanwhile, is led by the coach's kid Max Rice. Rice is having the best year of his career, and although his style of play is a bit unorthodox, it is effective. Rice will be the main guy that the Wildcats have to shut down, but the Broncos have a couple of other players you need to keep an eye on in Marcus Shaver Jr. and Tyson Degenhart. The Wildcats come into this game as a short one-and-a-half-point favorite.
I am going to back yet another dog in the first round and take the money line on Boise State. I watched a lot of Boise State games this season, and I love the way that this team plays. They have a well-balanced attack on the offensive side of the basketball, and they play hard-nosed defense for forty minutes every night. Leon Rice is one of the more underrated coaches in the nation, in my opinion, and I expect him to have a well-prepared game plan for Buie and Audige on Thursday. Let’s cash this dog in!
