Penn State vs. Texas A&M Prediction

The Penn State Nittany Lions vs. the Texas A&M Aggies will duel things out tonight for a much-anticipated matchup. There are a lot of people out there that believe this could be one of the best matchups of round one and for a good reason.

These two teams got hot at the end of the year, and they both made runs to their conference championships but lost in the final game to a pair of No. 1 seeds in Purdue and Alabama.

Penn State was not slated to be a tournament team entering the year, but they have been able to silence the critics. The star of this team is a wind team all-American, Jalen Pickett, who has had a career year. This guy can do it all and is the heartbeat of this Penn State team. If the Nittany Lions want to have any chance to pull off the upset today, he will be a key part of it.

The Aggies, meanwhile, felt as if they should have been a tournament team a season ago, but now they get their opportunity to show the world why they belong. A&M is led by head coach Buzz Williams who has done an outstanding job with the program since taking over. A&M is known for their defense and limiting opponents, but if they can turn it on offensively, this could be a dangerous team in the tournament.

I will be backing the Aggies on the moneyline here. It took me until today to flip on this game, as I liked Penn State all week long, but the way this line has moved makes it an A&M play for me. Texas A&M opened up as a one-point favorite, and they are up to -2.5 despite the public backing Penn State. I still believe this will be a tight game all the way, but I like the Aggies to have enough firepower late to win this game.
