Auburn vs. Baylor Prediction
The Baylor Bears will have a much different-looking rotation this year after losing Adam Flagler, Keyonte George and LJ Cryer this offseason. They have a few solid transfers coming in, like RayJ Dennis from Toledo and Jayden Nunn from VCU, but the talent lost in their backcourt cannot go unnoticed.
Auburn will have some new faces in their rotation this season, but they get Johni Broome, Jaylin Williams and K.D. Johnson back. Wendell Green Jr. is off to the NBA, but they will be replacing him with a five-star recruit who I think many end up being better. Bruce Pearl got one of the best recruits in his tenure, Aden Holloway, making his debut for the Tigers in this contest. Expect Holloway to be the best scorer on the court as soon as he steps on it for the first time tonight.
With Broome and Holloway confirmed playing tonight, the line flipped in this matchup. Auburn is now the betting favorite, as they should be. I don’t see how Johni Broome doesn’t have a field-day against Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua in the paint. The Baylor big man has been a liability in the paint in years’ past.
With the spread flipping in this contest, bet on Auburn before the odds get any worse. I’m buying-low on Bruce Pearl’s squad who’s stayed under the radar this off-season. With their veteran core returning and Holloway making his CBB debut, the Tigers are the play tonight.
