Georgetown lost Primo Spears, Brandon Murray and Qudus Wahab this offseason, three big names that will be hard to replace in Cooley’s first season. He brought over plenty of transfers from all over the country, but how good will they look in their first game with all the pressure on the Hoyas? Le Moyne has zero expectations of winning their first D1 game on the road against Georgetown. The Dolphins will be playing loose like they have nothing to lose, because they don’t.
We just saw Merrimack win the NEC in their first season in the conference. We watched Stonehill have a productive first season after making the jump from D2 last year. Is Le Moyne the next D2 school to make the jump and over-perform all expectations?
With almost their entire team returning from last season, I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out like the more “put-together” team in this contest tonight. Georgetown has all the pressure and a ton of new pieces making their first appearance for the Hoyas. Fade Georgetown in Cooley’s debut, and back the Dolphins to cover the spread tonight. We’ve seen these D2 schools over-perform in their first D1 season, maybe Le Moyne will be the next school to follow the trend.
