Florida Atlantic vs. Loyola Prediction
The Owls became America's team a season ago as they went on a legendary run to the Final Four.
They lost on a buzzer-beater to San Diego State in the final four, but it did not change the fact that they put themselves on the map.
Fast forward to today, and the Owls have their highest ranking in school history at No. 10.
FAU will return their starting lineup from a season ago.
Junior Johnell Davis leads this team. Davis was excellent in March Madness and averaged 13.8 points per game a season ago.
Alijah Martin returns as one of the more underrated guards in the nation. Martin averaged 13.4 points per game a year ago.
7’1 big man Vladislav Goldin will return to the court for the Owls tonight. Goldin led the team with 6.5 rebounds last season.
Loyola has gone on some great runs over the last decade in March Madness.
Similar to FAU, this is not a power conference school, but the standard is high.
Loyola had a tough go of things a season ago, missing out on March Madness for the first time since the 2018-2019 season.
The team finished with a record of 10-21.
The Ramblers return four of their top five scorers from last season.
Senior Philip Alston led the team in scoring a season ago, averaging 14.6 points per game.
Braden Norris is back for his fifth season. The veteran guard ranked second on the team, scoring 10.9 points per game a year ago.
Fellow guard Marquise Kennedy will be back for his fifth year as a Rambler. Kennedy averaged 7.5 points per game in 2022.
FAU vs. Loyola Chicago Pick
I will fade the world and back Sister Jean and the Ramblers tonight.
FAU is currently getting 92% of the bets, which is an automatic fade for me.
This is an experienced lineup for Loyola that has a lot of chemistry together. That goes a long way early in the season.
I see a low-scoring game that results in a Loyola cover.
