It’s been a quite a different start to the season for the Creighton Bluejays and the UNLV Rebels. The former is now ranked sixth in Kenpom, sitting at 8-1 on the year with one of the best ATS records in the nation. The latter, UNLV, hasn’t covered in nearly a month. Will each team continue down their own path, or will the Rebels catch Creighton sleeping in Las Vegas tonight?

Creighton vs. UNLV Prediction
UNLV has failed to cover since their big win against Pepperdine on November 17th, but this team is more talented than they’ve shown. Kalib Boone is having a great season since coming over from Oklahoma State, averaging 14 points per game. The Rebels have four double-digit scorers in their starting lineup, all who will looking to rebound from three losses in their last four games.
Creighton is one of the most public plays of the day, yet the spread in this game has dropped from CREI -14.5 to CREI -12.5. Oddsmakers simply gave the Rebels too many points with that opener. Creighton has been shooting lights-out, but let’s see if this team can continue to shoot 40% from deep in primetime on the road.
The Bluejays are coming off a 109-64 win against a horrid Central Michigan team. The Rebels are entering this game off an embarrassing loss to Loyola Marymount at home. This is a perfect “buy low, sell high” spot. Creighton is one of the best teams in the country, but I’m willing to bet UNLV catches them sleeping early in this contest. They might come back and win this game, but 12.5 is far too many points.
Everyone is counting the Rebels out in this spot. The public is hammering Creighton to cover this game, but it simply feels too easy. If bets like CREI -12.5 hit, Las Vegas wouldn’t look as shiny as it does, and with this game being played in Las Vegas, I’m sure oddsmakers are expecting plenty of action on this contest. Ride with the sharps, and back UNLV to keep this game within double digits.
I’ll be sprinkling on UNLV to win the first half of this game as well. This entire bet lies in the hands of the Rebels getting off to a great start, catching the Bluejays sleeping on the road after numerous easy wins.
