College Basketball Picks: Targeting Tulane, Michigan State on Thursday Night
I hope you’ve been tailing my plays lately, I’ve been on an absurd hot-streak that certainly can’t last forever. For now, let’s ride the hot streak into Thursday night’s college basketball slate. Here are a few of my favorite plays.
College Basketball Picks
FAU vs. Tulane Prediction
Although it might be a nearly identical roster, this isn’t the same FAU team that made it to the Final Four last year. Something is off with the Owls, who just lost their fourth game of the season to a struggling Charlotte team. They might lose their second game in a row at Tulane on Thursday.
Kevin Cross should thrive against Vladislav Goldin and the Owls. Expect him to pull Vlad out to the perimeter a ton, opening up the interior for the Green Wave. Vlad might be 7’1” but he will have a tough time keeping up with a physical and versatile Cross. Back Tulane with the points at home; they will keep this game within a couple buckets.

Michigan State vs. Illinois Prediction
It’s extremely difficult to win on the road in the Big Ten, but that doesn't mean away teams can’t cover! This matchup between Michigan State and Illinois just reeks of a game that goes down to the last possession. Tom Izzo’s Spartans can’t afford to drop a second-consecutive game, as they’ve already used up all their bad losses for the season, and Illinois showed they were beatable in their most recent loss against Purdue.
Michigan State is a horrid matchup for the Fighting Illini. The Spartans will play “bully-ball” much like Zach Edey did last week in Illinois’ first loss of the new year. MSU might not be showing it on a consistent basis, but this can be one of the most physical teams in the country if they want to be.
On Thursday night, the Spartans are going to have to be extra physical. Expect big games from Malik Hall and Mady Sissoko on the interior, and back the Spartans to keep this game within one score. Whoever wins this game is going to do it on the last possession.
