I’ve been waiting for the rematch between two of the best teams in the Mountain West for almost a month. When these two squads faced-off in January, Nevada got crushed by Jaedon LeDee and the Aztecs. They lost 59-71, getting out-scored, out-played and out-hustled. Will Kenan Blackshear and co. step up with a chance to get their revenge at home tonight?

SAN DIEGO STATE VS. NEVADA PREDICTION
Let’s not forget how dominant Nevada looked early on this season. They won 15 of their first 16 games of the season, and people (me) were saying that this might be the best team in a loaded Mountain West conference. Then we watched the Wolfpack lose four of their next five games in conference play.
This Wolfpack team has been all over the place this season, but they’ve seemed to have gotten back on track in their last two games. The big star has been sophomore Nick Davidson, who’s combined for 47 points against Utah State and San Jose State over the last week. Davidson has added a third major scoring option for this already loaded offense.
I’m a huge fan of Kenan Blackshear, and I still think he is the most important player on this team… but Nick Davidson might just be the key to success on this team. The reason why this team has re-found success after a mid-season slump is simple: they aren’t forcing as many shots with Jarod Lucas. Trust me, the senior sharpshooter is their best scorer right now, but having Davidson find success both in the paint and behind the arch has opened up another major scoring option for the Wolfpack that nobody expected.
I’m sure Nevada remembers getting embarrassed by the Aztecs about a month ago. If they play like they have the last two games against SDSU tonight, they will blow them out of their home arena. Let’s not forget to mention that the Wolfpack are a favorite and catching steam on both the moneyline and spread tonight.
Nevada on the moneyline is one of my favorite college basketball plays of the season. I’ve had my eyes on this team for the last couple of years, and right now they are playing some really good basketball. This is the best team Coach Alford has ever had. Tonight, they are going to play like it.
