Iowa State is 7-3 in conference play with their three losses coming from Oklahoma, BYU, and Baylor. All three losses have come on the road. Can they get a road win tonight, or will they drop another?
Iowa State is led by sophomore guard Tamin Lipsey. The hometown hero from Ames, Iowa has been leading this Cyclones team by helping out in every category. Lipsey is averaging 13.2 PPG which is second best on his team (Keshon Gilbert averges 13.9). Lipsey averages 5 RPG which is second best on the team.
He leads the team in both assists per game (5.6) and steals per game with three. This kid is a stud, hence why this Cyclone team has been solid this year. Expect Lipsey to show out tonight and be all over the stat sheet as I think he contributes well as he will lead the Cyclones to victory tonight.
I think that the wrong team is favored tonight. Recent trends of "unranked home favorites" have been cashing big this year and is picking up steam however, I think that this is not the case tonight. I personally just do not see how a team like Cincinnati keeps up with a red-hot Iowa State team. If Iowa State can knock down their shots and keep the Bearcats crowd out of this, I think they can win, and win big.
Cincinnati will dominate the glass, but the Cyclones will cause 13+ turnovers tonight as the Bearcats have shown that they are not capable keeping control of the rock. I would not be surprised if Iowa State comes out hot, dominate the game from tip-off to the final buzzer, and wins by 6+.
