There are so many great college basketball games today, but the best one might be out in Reno, Nevada. The New Mexico Lobos are set to battle the Nevada Wolfpack for the second time this year. Will Kenan Blackshear and Jarod Lucas stay hot and get their revenge on the Lobos, or will Donovan Dent and New Mexico prove to the world that the Mountain West runs through them this year?

New Mexico vs. Nevada Prediction
We can’t forget about what happened back in January. The Lobos destroyed the Wolfpack 89-55 behind 21 points from Jaelen House, the team’s heart and soul. I’m willing to bet the quick-tempered House will have quite the different game on the road in Reno.
I’ve said it before the season and I’ll say it again; if Nevada is going to make a run, this is their chance. Steve Alford hasn’t had a squad this complete since his time at Nevada. They have great shooting in Lucas, physicality in Blackshear and Coleman, and their best player right now might be the sophomore Nick Davidson. He, along with his team, are playing their best basketball of the season right now.
If there’s one advantage Nevada has in this game, it’s that they’re playing at home and they don’t turn the ball over. We all know how electric this New Mexico offense can be, but Nevada can slow down the tempo and take the Lobos out of their comfort zone. These are two widely-different offenses, and that might play right into Nevada’s game plan tonight.
If the Wolfpack want to win their fourth game in a row, they are going to make to slow this game down and make New Mexico do something they aren’t typically used to. Blackshear is more than capable of taking care of the ball and controlling the tempo, especially on his home floor.
Nevada is the public side, but the splits are sharp (on VSIN). Big bets are being placed on Nevada at home in this spot, along with mine. It’s very telling that the Wolfpack are favorites in this game against one of the best offenses in the country, but this is the Mountain West we’re talking about. The home team wins more often than not. Fade the Lobos in a tough spot; this is Coach Alford and Nevada’s year.
