There aren’t two teams in the ACC trending in two opposite directions more than Duke and Miami currently are. The Blue Devils have won four games in a row, and are currently only a half game out of first place in the ACC standings. Miami, on the other hand, has lost four straight games, putting them in the basement of the conference. The Hurricanes have a chance to “stop the bleeding” at home tonight against one of the hottest teams in the country. Will they shock the world with an outright win, or will Kyle FIlipowski and the Blue Devils notch their fifth win in a row?

I’m willing to bet the Miami Hurricanes steal one from the Blue Devils tonight, or at least cover. Let’s not forget that although Miami is on a four-game skid, they’re still 11-3 at home this season. There are a couple injuries and game time decisions on both sides tonight; I’d like my money on the home team if injuries are involved.
Can Duke rely on freshman Jared McCain on the road against a veteran Miami team? He’s coming off his career high on the road against Florida State, but will he be able to replicate his success from deep (8-11) against this veteran backcourt? I’m willing to bet McCain struggles a little tonight for the first time in a while; Miami is going to press Duke’s backcourt and stick Norchad Omier on Kyle Filipowski, switching when needed. Coach Larranaga has the guys to slow down this red-hot Duke team.
I think we can all agree that Duke looks like one of the easiest bets on the board tonight. Those plays usually don’t tend to hit. Fade the public Blue Devils on the road in this spot; Miami has the size and physicality to hang with Filipowski, and with all the injury concerns, I feel good having my money on Coach Larranaga’s Hurricanes at home.
