I’ve got my eyes on the MAAC tonight, as St. Peter’s heads down to Emmitsburg, Maryland for their second matchup of the season against Mount St. Mary’s. Which MAAC school will pull out the victory on Friday night?

Saint Peter's vs. Mount St. Mary's Prediction
We can’t forget that the Saint Peter’s Peacocks have beaten the Mount in each of the last two times they’ve faced each other, with one of those wins in Emmitsburg. The Mount has gotten off to a slow start since joining the MAAC last year, but if there’s one thing we know about the Mount, it’s that they defend their home floor very well.
The Mount might be 11-15 this season, but they are 7-3 at home. Their overall record looks worse than it actually is, considering how tough of a schedule the Mountaineers play early on in the season. This Mount team has hung around all conference play… I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish the regular season strong and catapult themselves into the top of the MAAC standings. A win against St. Peter’s tonight would go a long way…
Corey Washington returned for the Peacocks around a week ago, helping his team snag two big-time conference wins against Siena and Iona. I was surprised to see MSM sitting as the betting favorite against Washington and the Peacocks, but oddsmakers are seemingly respecting the Mount at home in this spot.
Luckily for the Mount, they’ve got a stud freshman defender in De’Shayne Montgomery. He’s averaging nearly two steals per game, leading the way defensively for the Mount. It won’t be easy, but if anyone can slow own Washington tonight, it’s Montgomery. I’m willing to bet he does a solid job neutralizing the Peacocks’ best player tonight.
There’s a reason the Mount is the betting favorite against a Saint Peter’s team that’s beaten them already this season.
