Don’t let the FAU Owls get hot! It might be too late, as Dusty May’s squad is starting to get hot down the stretch like they did during their Final Four run last season. Coming off a big win against SMU, will the Owls continue their hot stretch, or will Memphis earn a big-time Q1 win at home?

FAU vs. Memphis Prediction
I’m willing to bet we see Memphis’ best on Sunday afternoon. This Tigers team has been through their ups and downs under Penny Hardaway like they have every season since he’s taken over the program, but there’s no doubt they have plenty of talent.
The best player on the floor in this game is David Jones, and it’s not even close. The Memphis forward is averaging close to 22 PPG. This guard-heavy FAU team will struggle to defend David Jones on Sunday. They might have a 7’1” big man from Russia in the paint, but Vlad Goldin has struggled against physical teams this season. He might be tall, but this big and tough Memphis team isn’t a great matchup for FAU.
Memphis needs to add at least one more Q1 win to their resume before the end of the regular season. They aren’t necessarily a lock to make the tournament, but they surely have the talent to make it. Coming off a big win against Charlotte, I’m predicting the Tigers carry that momentum into another big win this afternoon.
The public is hammering FAU on the road in this spot. Nearly 70% of the bets and even more of the handle is currently backing the Owls on the spread against Memphis this afternoon. Fade the public in this spot. FAU has struggled at times this season in a much better conference, and this road test will be tougher than the public is predicting.
Back the Memphis Tigers to cover on Sunday. David Jones, Jahvon Quinerly, and Nae’Qwan Tomlin will prove to be too much for the Owls to handle defensively. This might be almost the same roster from last year’s legacy Final Four run, but the Owls don’t have the same magic from last season. Fade FAU, and back Memphis on the spread; I’ll meet you at the cash counter.
