I’m willing to bet Ja’Kobe Walter, the best freshman in the Big 12, gets his revenge against the Frogs tonight. He was held to a season-low 2-12 from the field against TCU in the first matchup, but this is Ja’Kobe Walter we’re talking about here. He’s coming off a 23 point performance against the best defense in the country.
Speaking of Ja’Kobe’s 23-piece, I really liked how Baylor finished that game this weekend. They might not have gotten the win, but they were down 41-25 at halftime against the Cougars. They came all the way back and took one of, if not the best team in the country to overtime. If Baylor can play with even half the tenacity they showed in the second half of that game this weekend, they will pull off the upset tonight with ease.
Rumor has it Langston Love may be returning tonight against TCU. I typically don’t like buying good news, but Love would be a huge addition to Baylor’s backcourt. Either way, I’m expecting Baylor’s offense to build on their momentum from that second half against Houston. Let’s not forget this is a top-25 defense we’re talking about here…
Scott Drew is one of the best coaches in the country. He know’s how pivotal it is for the Bears to end their little skit with a big-time Q1 win. TCU has been known to fold in spots like this, but they have been playing some very good basketball of late. The Frogs have covered in each of their last four games and are 17-10 ATS this season, but I’m sure oddsmakers know that. I don’t see them losing anymore coins on the Horned Frogs today.
The first matchup of this series went into triple overtime, even with RayJ Dennis and Yves Missi’s combined 49 points. I don’t see anyone on this TCU team being able to cover Missi tonight. Bet on Baylor to earn their revenge on the road in a very sharp spot coming off back-to-back losses. The Frogs fold in spots like this more often than not, and if they were going to win, they’d be laying more than two points at home against a team they’ve already beaten.
