Since Ohio State fired their head coach Chris Holtmann, they’ve won two of their last three games, including an upset against Purdue at home. It seems like their coach, who people are saying should’ve been fired years ago, was holding this team back. With their newfound confidence, will the Buckeyes continue building on their recent momentum with a win against Nebraska?

I’m willing to bet this physical Buckeyes squad not only continues building on their recent momentum, but also gets their revenge against the Huskers after losing by nearly twenty points at Nebraska earlier this year. Nebraska has beaten Ohio State the last three times they’ve played them, a stretch that simply can’t continue.
Nebraska has some solid forwards in Rienk Mast, Juwan Gary and Josiah Allick, but these guys aren’t physical. This Nebraska team will struggle against tough, physical players like Jamison Battle, Zed Key and Felix Okpara tonight. Even the Buckeyes’ backcourt is filled with strong guards like Bruce Thornton and Roddy Gayle Jr.
The Huskers might’ve beaten Ohio State back in January, but that was thanks to shooting better than 50% from three. The Buckeyes’ perimeter defense was getting torched all season until they made the coaching change. We’ve seen their defense look much better since the firing of Holtmann. They held the Spartans to 25% from three in their last game. I’m willing to bet they carry this recent success on the defensive side of the ball into tonight’s matchup with the sharpshooting Huskers.
If Nebraska was going to sweep the season series against the Buckeyes, they wouldn’t be getting 3.5 points on the spread. It’s crazy to see Ohio State catch steam on the spread and moneyline as well considering how much of a disappointment they’ve been this season. It seems like oddsmakers are starting to respect the Buckeyes again after their coaching change. Back Ohio State to stay perfect at home since firing Chris Holtmann. The Buckeyes are back.
