Tonight, we head over to the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where the No. 9 seed in South Dakota faces No. 8 seed Oral Roberts. This game is a "play-in game" and the winner gets to face No. 1 seed South Dakota State. Both teams split in their two matchups where they both won on their home court. Although this is a neutral site game, does South Dakota home "home-court" advantage tonight with it being so close to campus? Let's get into it!

South Dakota vs. Oral Roberts Prediction
South Dakota is 12-19 this season with a 5-11 record in the Summit League. They are led by junior guard Kaleb Stewart who scored 44 points in their loss against Denver earlier this season... this kid is a stud. Stewart earned Summit League "All-Newcomer Team" earlier this week as he was a transfer from Louisiana Tech and played a big role in South Dakota's team this year.
With all that being said, this team has underperformed a ton this year. Eight of their 12 wins were at home this year as they do not play good away from Vermillion. They were underdogs in their last matchup against Oral Roberts last time they played and ended up winning outright. I don't think that is the case tonight.
Oral Roberts comes into tonight's matchup with an overall record of 11-18 and a Summit League record of 5-11. This is not the same Oral Roberts as you are used to. Tonight, you will not be watching the same team that upset Ohio State in the tournament. Texas guard Max Abmas was on that Oral Roberts team, and that is someone you cannot not replace.
With all that being said, senior guard Issac McBride has been astonishing. McBride is averaging 19.7 PPG while shooting a little over 37% from three. Oral Roberts has not been their best this year, but McBride can ball, and I expect him to do that tonight.
Keys to the game for Oral Roberts
- Create turnovers
- Knock down three point attempts
- Control the glass
- Slow down South Dakota
- McBride to score over 20 points
South Dakota does not take care of the ball at all and Oral Roberts causes turnovers. This will lead to a lot of fast break points tonight, and if Oral Roberts can do that tonight, I do not see how they do not win this game. South Dakota plays fast and rebounds well, if they can limit them to one of the few things that they are good at, I would not be surprised if Oral Roberts wins this game by 7+ tonight.
