College Basketball Parlay Picks: Targeting Favorites in Conference Championship Battles

The mid-major conference tournaments will continue on Sunday afternoon, and they are full of exciting matchups. Can Charleston and James Madison advance to the finals? How about Colgate and Hofstra? Krabs provides his predictions and picks for this loaded slate and creates a college basketball parlay.

College Basketball Parlay Picks: Targeting Favorites in Conference Championship Battles

As the regular season winds down, we are blessed with yet another loaded slate to close out the weekend. Let me navigate you through some of these games as we craft up a greasy four-team parlay…

Monmouth vs. Charleston Prediction

Pat Kelsey is fresh off a CAA Coach of the Year award, looking to win his second straight conference tournament with the Cougars. This Charleston team has looked sharp all season, even without Dalton Bolon. Reyne Smith has taken over the heavy workload of scoring down the stretch. The sharpshooter from Tasmania has scored a combined 53 points in his last two games.

Monmouth is coming off a legacy performance where they dropped 90 points against Campbell in the first round of the CAA tourney. Will they be able to replicate their success against this much better Charleston team looking to make their second straight NCAA tournament? They might keep it close in the beginning, but Monmouth won’t be able to steal this one from Reyne Smith and the Cougars.

Bucknell vs. Colgate Prediction

Bucknell enters the Patriot League tournament on a four game win streak, but they’ll have to beat the perennial champs on their home floor this afternoon if they want to keep their season alive. They might give the Raiders a run for their money in the first half, but Coach Langel doesn’t lose in the first round of this tournament. He’s not going to start today against a Bucknell team that they’ve beaten 8 straight times dating back to early 2021. Fade the surging Bison; they are a public dog against a Colgate team that hasn’t been as dominant this season than in years past, but is still 11-3 on their home floor.

Delaware vs. Hofstra Prediction

The Pride are coming off their first loss in a while, and the Blue Hens are coming off a 80-50 blowout against Hampton. Nobody is going to want to lay it with Hofstra in this spot, but Tyler Thomas has truly become one of the best mid-major players in the country in his senior season. He isn’t losing to Delaware in the quarterfinals, and I love backing this Hofstra team off a loss. Let’s not forget they have still won 8 of their last 10 games down the stretch…

Texas State vs. James Madison Prediction

It’s the Dukes year, plain and simple. JMU is 29-3 fresh off a 81-64 route against Marshall. Their opponent tonight, Texas State enters the Sun Belt tourney on a 6 game winning streak, playing their best basketball of the season. That doesn’t mean they are going to be able o slow down Fatts Edwards and the Dukes on Sunday night.

JMU runs one of the fastest tempos in the country, Texas State doesn’t like to run, hence why they lost 82-65 earlier this season to this team. The Dukes are on an 11 game winning streak themselves, looking to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament if they can get through the Bobcats in the semifinals. Fatts Edwards, T.J. Bickerstaff and Noah Freidel will prove to be too much for the Bobcats to handle, just like in that blowout back in December.
