Minnesota vs. Michigan State Prediction
The key factor to this game is it is being played in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the same city where the Golden Gophers usually play in. I'm aware it's not a home game because it's played at the Target Center, a neutral site, but it's gonna feel like a home game for them because of the proximity to the campus and their local fanbase.
With that in mind, Minnesota is 7-3 in conference play at home, and Michigan State is a poor 3-7 on the road. Minnesota overall on the season is also 23-8 overall against the spread, and Michigan State overall is 16-15 against the spread. During their regular season matchups, Michigan State won by 10 at home and Minnesota won by 3 at home. The Minnesota win was much more recent, and more indicative of how this game should go in respect to their current form and where the game is being played.
It's important to know that at the end of the day that both teams are struggling. Overall, I think 7-point underdogs at a close-to-home game is way too many points. I'm also aware that a Michigan State win basically guarantees they're in the tournament, but MSU hasn't beat anyone in a month by this number, and the last time they did it came at home. I believe Michigan State will pull out the win, but I believe Minnesota will cover the spread.
