Will the Lobos pull off the upset and defeat a red-hot Boise State team, or will the Broncos defeat them for the third time this season?

I’m willing to bet Coach Pitino and the Lobos come out firing tonight. They might’ve lost both games to Boise State earlier this season, but with their backs against the wall and the Broncos coming off a massive win at San Diego State, I wouldn’t be surprised of the Lobos catch them sleeping tonight. New Mexico has all the firepower in the world to outmatch the Broncos if they don’t bring their “A-game” on Thursday night.
I’m not giving up on the Lobos just yet. They have a top-20 rated offense in the country and some of the best guards in the Mountain West. With Boise State coming off that big win against SDSU, this is a massive letdown spot for the Broncos after a great end to the season. Most bracketologists have them already in the NCAA tournament, so if they lose this game to New Mexico it’s not the end of the world. The Lobos, on the other hand, have to win this game to keep their season alive.
Donovan Dent and JT Toppin are the next big stars of the Mountain West. Jaelen House and Jamal Mashburn Jr. are in their senior seasons with one last chance to finally make something happen for the Lobos in the postseason. Don’t count out Coach Pitino’s squad just yet… it’s very hard to beat a team three times in a single season and the Broncos are looking to do that tonight.
New Mexico opened up as the betting favorite against Boise State, and that’s all I needed to see. Even with the line movement, the fact that New Mexico opened as favorites against a team they’ve lost to twice already this year is very telling. Fade the Broncos and back New Mexico on the moneyline. It’s been an up-and-down year for the Lobos, but their season isn’t over just yet.
