I’ve had this MAAC postseason matchup circled on my calendar for weeks. Saint Peter’s, a team the public remembers dearly for their Elite Eight back in 2022, faces the surging Rider Broncos for the third time this season on Thursday night. Rider got the better of them in both of those regular season games. Will the Peacocks get their revenge in Atlantic City tonight, or will the Broncs beat them for the third time this season?

Saint Peter's vs. Rider Prediction
Rider might’ve beaten the Peacocks twice earlier this year, but that was mainly without their star Corey Washington on the court. He got injured in the first matchup against Rider, only playing 15 minutes but dropping a quick 11 points. He missed the second game at Rider, where Saint Peter’s hung in until the final whistle. Tonight, they will have their star out there for (hopefully) closer to 35 minutes.
Saint Peter’s ranked inside the top-50 in the country in offensive rebounding. Almost everyone on their team excels at rebounding the basketball. Their brand of basketball is still tough, physical and defensive-minded. They rank inside the top-50 in defensive rating as well. If Corey Washington does his job and drops close to 20 points tonight, Rider will have no answer.
The Peacocks opened up a short underdog when the opening lines were released, which makes sense. They have lost to the Broncs twice this season. Sharps quickly steamed St. Peter’s up to the betting favorite, with the splits (on VSIN) looking sharp for the Peacocks on Thursday night. Some big bets have been placed on St. Peters’ to win this game…
It’s extremely difficult to beat a team three times in a single season. That is what Rider is looking to accomplish tonight, and with the spread flipping, it doesn’t look like oddsmakers have much confidence in them pulling it off. Fade the Broncs, who are now short underdogs to Corey Washington and the Peacocks. This team might not have a legacy Elite Eight run in them like they did back in 2022, but they’re solid enough to stay alive in the MAAC tournament for another round.
