Don’t count out Coach Pitino just yet! The Red Storm finished the season extremely well, and is fresh off a big win against Seton Hall. Will they hand UCONN their first loss in nearly a month, or will the Huskies continue to dominate Big East play?

The Red Storm hasn’t played this well is years. They enter this game on a six-game winning streak, lighting up the scoreboard with 80+ points in each of those games. Coach Pitino has his guys playing their best basketball of the season.
A big reason why most teams struggle to defend the Huskies is their center, Donovan Clingan. The 7’2” behemoth has filled in nicely for Adama Sanogo. Luckily for St. John’s, they will have Joel Soriano to counter Clingan. He’s played some inspired basketball down the stretch, and is coming off a 12 rebound performance against Seton Hall. Don’t be surprised if Soriano limits Clingan’s success down low tonight.
St. John’s really started lighting up the scoreboard when Daniss Jenkins and Joran Dingle started to get going down the stretch. RJ Luis Jr. has improved immensely in the second half of the season, scoring more than 15 points in 4 of his last 6 games. Everything is clicking at the right time for the Red Storm…
The Huskies opened up a 9.5-point favorite in this matchup, which makes sense considering they beat St. John’s by 13 points earlier this year. I think this is way too many points to give a red-hot St. John’s team. Fade the Huskies and back the Red Storm to keep this game within a couple possessions. With all the money pouring in on UConn, the spread hasn’t moved an inch.
