Illinois vs. UConn Prediction

The winner of this game will punch their ticket to the Final Four.

The Huskies have not just been winning; they have been dominating.

UConn has won their three games by a combined 86 points.

Dan Hurley's squad looks poised for a repeat.

The Huskies most recently rolled past San Diego State 82-52 in the Sweet 16.

There is no doubt this is the best team in college basketball.

First-team all-American Tristen Newton leads the Huskies with 15.3 points and 6.1 assists.

Big man Donovan Clingan has been great, adding 12.6 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds.

Rutgers transfer Cam Spencer has averaged 14.5 points and 3.6 assists.

UConn has scored 81.5 points per game.

Illinois rolls into this matchup with supreme confidence after pulling off an upset over Iowa State.

The Illini used a strong second half performance to roll past Morehead State in Round 1.

They followed that performance up with a blowout win over Duquesne.

According to KenPom, this is the best offense in college basketball.

The Illini have not reached the final four since 2005.

Illinois has never won a National Championship.

Senior Terrence Shannon Jr. leads the Illini with 23.5 points per game.

Wisconsin native Marcus Domask has added 15.8 points and a team high 4.0 assists.

Coleman Hawkins has added 12.3 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Illinois has averaged 84.4 points per game.

Illinois vs. UConn Pick

While I do think the Illini will cover this game, the safer bet here is their team total.

As mentioned according to KenPom this is the best offense in college basketball.

Illinois will need to play with pace in this game if they want to pull off the upset.

While UConn is a strong defensive team, this number is too low.

UConn has a lot of different guys that can score, and this number is too high for Newton.
