Best First Round March Madness Player Props

Kam Woods Over 14.5 Points (-137)

I can't be the only one who thinks Robert Morris will outscore Alabama in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Robert Morris has Kam Woods. He's scored 15.1 points per game and will battle an Alabama team that ranks 339th in points allowed to guards this season. Alabama doesn't allow a high rate of threes to guards but has given up 14.46 field goal attempts to guards per game this season. Woods will be involved offensively and has added at least 15 points in 18 of 29 games this year. Robert Morris will be in a shooting match against Alabama. Look for Woods to be right in the middle of it.

Jeremy Roach Over 8.5 Points (-125)

There's nothing like having a veteran guard on your team to kick-off March Madness.

Jeremy Roach is that guy. He's added at least nine points in 63% of gamers this season and will now face a Mississipi State defense that ranks 322nd in points per game allowed to guards. Mississippi State has given up a 39.42% field goal percentage to guards this season, which also ranks 339th. Beyond that, guards have added 5.3 field goals made per game and a high free throw rate. Roach will be needed down the stretch for Baylor. Take his over.

Lamont Butler Under 9.5 Points (-132)

Lamont Butler has been dealing with an injury for most of the second half of the season. He's expected to play in today's game against Troy. But I'd have to imagine he won't get any more than 25 minutes. For one, Kentucky should dominate Troy. Secondly, Butler is still working his way back. That said, we still have to give some credit to Troy. The Trojans have limited guards to 13.32 points per game, which is 54th in the nation. Guards have made below five field goals per game against Troy and don't really see the foul line much, either. In addition, guards have shot just 32.84% from the field against the Trojans this year. I don't like Butler's chances at ten or more points.
