The UConn Huskies have won the NCAA Tournament two straight seasons. This year, they'll look to win it for a third time in a row with a matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners. Only this time, the Huskies are an eight-seed and have a much more difficult road to start the Tournament. Not only will they have to face Oklahoma today, but with a win, the Huskies will likely have to face the SEC's best team, the Florida Gators. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. At-large teams that finished at least four games under .500 in conference play are 5-1 in the first round. Oklahoma is the lone team in the first round that fits this criteria after going 6-12 in its first season in the SEC. The Sooners also have Jeremiah Fears, who is highly regarded as a potential top-10 pick in the upcoming draft. Believe it or not, he'll be the best player on the court when UConn takes on Oklahoma later today. Could UConn get bounced in the first round this year?

Oklahoma vs. UConn Prediction
This Oklahoma-UConn game will likely go back and forth. After all, the Oklahoma Sooners don't rebound well on the offensive glass. However, they have still shot a 54.9% effective field goal percentage. They've made 37% of their field goals from deep, 54.6% from inside the arc, and 79.4% from the foul line. Meanwhile, UConn fouls at a very high rate and the Huskies have also allowed teams to shoot over 35% from downtown this season. Oklahoma should take advantage of the opportunities from downtown and the foul line in this game. Plus, UConn is never a threat to force many turnovers. Meanwhile, the Huskies have one of the best offenses in the country, shooting a 55.5% effective field goal percentage. Although they might not get the best looks inside the arc, they'll find plenty of space around the rim. Oklahoma has allowed teams to shoot nearly 55% from two-point range this season, and UConn has drained 57.3% from inside the arc. In addition, UConn should be better on the offensive glass and create more second chances than the Sooners. That said, UConn still makes many threes and will battle an Oklahoma team that has limited opponents to only 30.5% from downtown. This game should be super close throughout. Therefore, I'll take the underdog with the points.
