Golden State Valkyries vs. Los Angeles Sparks Prediction
Golden State has beaten Toronto 96-79 and 92-82 before crushing Dallas 94-76 on Friday, giving the Valkyries three consecutive double-digit victories. Veronica Burton scored 22 points with seven assists and zero turnovers against the Wings, while Gabby Williams added 19 as Golden State recorded a franchise-best 27 assists. The Valkyries have now won nine of their past 11 games and are 8-2 across their last 10 while allowing only 74.9 points per game during that stretch.
Los Angeles deserves respect after snapping Minnesota’s 10-game winning streak with an 89-82 victory on Thursday. Rae Burrell led a balanced effort with 17 points, while Nneka Ogwumike and Dearica Hamby each added at least 16. The larger sample remains much less convincing, however, as the Sparks are only 3-7 across their last 10 games and have allowed 94.7 points per contest during that span. They are also adjusting after trading leading scorer Kelsey Plum to Phoenix at the deadline.
Golden State already demonstrated how difficult this matchup can become for Los Angeles, winning the first meeting 78-58 on June 15. The Valkyries held the Sparks to only 58 points and created a 20-point margin despite scoring just 78 themselves. Golden State’s defense remains the primary separator, and its recent offensive improvement makes the rematch even more problematic for a Los Angeles team that has allowed almost 94 points per game this season.

The Sparks’ win over Minnesota prevents this from being an automatic fade, but one upset does not erase the larger gap between these teams. Golden State has won three straight by 17, 10 and 18 points, has already beaten Los Angeles by 20 and enters with a defense capable of disrupting a Sparks offense that no longer has Plum. The Valkyries are playing with significantly greater consistency on both ends and should create separation again over four quarters.
