Connecticut Sun vs. Indiana Fever Prediction, Best Bets, Latest WNBA Odds for Friday, August 28th
Connecticut faces Indiana on Friday night in one of the largest-spread games remaining on the WNBA schedule. The Fever have already blown out the Sun once this season and are firmly in the championship conversation, but laying nearly 18 points creates an entirely different betting decision.

Connecticut Sun vs. Indiana Fever Prediction
Connecticut also enters off another ugly result. Golden State went into Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday and won 89-64, building a huge early advantage and holding the Sun to another poor offensive performance. Connecticut is without Brittney Griner and Leila Lacan, while Kennedy Burke is away from the team and Olivia Nelson-Ododa is questionable.
All of that makes Indiana an obvious favorite, particularly with Aliyah Boston returning after missing the Chicago game. Caitlin Clark is probable despite her lingering back issue and comes off a 37-point, 10-assist performance in a 113-90 victory over the Sky, while Kelsey Mitchell added 30.
The question is not which team is better. It is whether the gap needs to be 18 points.
Indiana has every reason to prioritize simply winning and getting healthy ahead of the playoffs. Boston is returning from a lower-leg issue, Clark has been managing her back and the Fever recently finished a demanding five-game road stretch. A comfortable fourth-quarter lead could produce a much different level of urgency than the opening three quarters.
Connecticut also showed some fight immediately before the Golden State disaster, beating Chicago 87-81. The Sun may be one of the league's worst teams, but asking any WNBA underdog to cover 17.5 points creates an enormous amount of garbage-time protection.

Indiana could lead by 20 for much of the game and still fail to cover if the reserves trade baskets late. The July blowout is the obvious warning, but the market has reacted to it aggressively. At +17.5, the Sun only need to make Friday's meeting somewhat more respectable than the last one.
