Washington and Los Angeles tip off at 10:10 PM ET, with the Mystics favored by 5.5 points and the total set at 167.5. Washington improved to 24-15 with Thursday's 80-73 victory over Phoenix, while Los Angeles sits at 13-25.
There is an obvious fatigue concern with Washington playing on consecutive nights, but the Mystics continue answering every challenge on this road trip. They have now won three consecutive road games and just beat Phoenix twice in 48 hours, first 94-84 on Tuesday and then 80-73 Thursday.

Thursday's victory may have been even more impressive because Washington had to come from behind. Georgia Amoore scored a career-high 25 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, while Kiki Iriafen added 20 points and 12 rebounds. The Mystics erased a double-digit deficit and controlled the closing minutes rather than simply relying on another hot start.
Washington has already handled Los Angeles this month as well. The Mystics won 80-70 on August 15, covering comfortably and holding the Sparks to 70 points. The matchup favors Washington's more balanced frontcourt, particularly when Shakira Austin and Iriafen can consistently attack the paint.
Los Angeles has lost seven of its last eight games and most recently fell 78-71 to Atlanta. Nneka Ogwumike produced 27 points and 16 rebounds in that game and Cameron Brink added 15 points, eight boards and five blocks, yet the Sparks still could not generate enough offense around them to threaten Atlanta late.
The Sparks will at least be more rested, and Rae Burrell is set to return after missing the Atlanta game with an illness. That makes laying 5.5 more difficult than simply looking at the records, but Washington's current form is too strong to fade purely because of the back-to-back.
