Olivia Miles Minnesota Lynx 2026

Minnesota Lynx vs. Atlanta Dream Prediction, Best Bets, Latest WNBA Odds for Sunday, August 30th

Minnesota and Atlanta meet Sunday afternoon in a potential WNBA playoff preview between two of the league's strongest teams. The Lynx finally had their six-game winning streak snapped last time out, but additional rest gives the league leaders an ideal opportunity to respond against a Dream team coming off its own disappointing loss.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Atlanta Dream Prediction: Can Olivia Miles, Lynx Bounce Back on Sunday Afternoon?

Minnesota and Atlanta tip off at 3:10 PM ET at Gateway Center Arena, with the Lynx favored by 2.5 points and the total set at 177.5. Minnesota enters at a league-best 31-8, while Atlanta is 25-14 and firmly established as one of the teams capable of challenging the favorites in the postseason.

The Lynx had been rolling before Golden State finally stopped them Monday. Minnesota entered that matchup on a six-game winning streak that included victories over Las Vegas, Dallas, Portland, Golden State and Washington, but the Valkyries held the Lynx to just 66 points in an 80-66 defeat. Minnesota turned the ball over 18 times and never found its normal offensive rhythm.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Atlanta Dream Prediction

The schedule creates an excellent bounce-back setup. Minnesota has been off since Monday, giving Cheryl Reeve nearly a full week to address what went wrong against Golden State. Atlanta played as recently as Friday and suffered an ugly 101-83 home loss to Portland, ending a four-game winning streak of its own. The Dream therefore enter with considerably less recovery time and after one of their poorest defensive performances of the month.

Atlanta is still a serious opponent. Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray give the Dream one of the league's better perimeter combinations, while Angel Reese continues to dominate the glass and recently set the WNBA single-game rebounding record with 26 against Los Angeles. The addition of DeWanna Bonner also gives Atlanta another experienced scorer and defender as it prepares for the playoffs, although Brionna Jones remains out.

Minnesota simply has more answers. Napheesa Collier remains the centerpiece of the WNBA's best team, while Olivia Miles has provided another high-level creator and Courtney Williams is expected to be available after missing the Golden State loss. The Lynx rank among the league's best teams on both ends and own the type of shooting and defensive versatility capable of attacking Atlanta's weaknesses from several different positions.

The season series has shown both sides of the matchup. Atlanta escaped Minnesota with a 91-90 victory in May, but the Lynx answered less than three weeks later with a convincing 96-81 win. Minnesota is also 7-3 across the last 10 meetings overall, giving the Lynx a longer track record of solving this matchup even though Atlanta has improved significantly.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Atlanta Dream Best Bet

Atlanta is good enough that laying a large road number would be uncomfortable, but -2.5 is different. Minnesota needs little more than a normal one-possession victory to cover, and the Lynx have had several extra days to reset after their worst offensive showing in weeks. The Dream are dangerous, but Minnesota is still the better team and should respond like one after having its winning streak snapped.
