Atlanta has taken a 2-0 series lead and has now beaten New York four consecutive times dating back to the regular season. Game 2 was the closest of the bunch, with the Liberty forcing overtime on Marine Fauthoux’s late 3-pointer before the Dream recovered for a 101-98 victory.
Allisha Gray remains the major variable entering Game 3. Atlanta’s leading scorer missed Wednesday with a left hand injury and has been considered day-to-day, creating some potential value in taking the Dream at +3.5 before her status is settled.
Dream vs. Liberty Recent Results
Dream (30-14 Regular Season)
Atlanta followed its 92-82 Game 1 victory with an impressive overtime win despite playing without Gray. Angel Reese and Jordin Canada each scored 23 points, with Canada adding eight assists and Reese contributing six points in overtime.
The Dream have repeatedly found ways to beat New York with defense, transition scoring and depth. Even without Gray in Game 2, all five Atlanta starters reached double figures and the Dream committed only seven turnovers compared to 16 for the Liberty.
Liberty (26-18 Regular Season)
New York showed considerably more life Wednesday after struggling in Game 1. Stewart exploded for 35 points, while Fauthoux added 20 and hit the tying 3-pointer late in regulation.
The Liberty still could not finish the comeback, dropping their fourth straight meeting with Atlanta. New York now returns home facing elimination despite entering the postseason with significant championship experience.

Dream vs. Liberty Prediction
New York deserves to be favored at home with its season on the line, but the matchup has repeatedly favored Atlanta. The Dream have won four straight against the Liberty, including two September meetings by 11 and 18 points before taking both games in Atlanta.
Game 2 was particularly encouraging because Atlanta survived without Gray. Reese and Canada carried larger offensive workloads, while Rhyne Howard, Naz Hillmon and the supporting cast did enough to withstand Stewart’s 35-point performance and a late Liberty rally.
The Gray uncertainty creates the most interesting part of the number. If she is cleared to return, the gap between these teams should look much closer to even than the current +3.5. Taking the points now provides some protection against that possibility while still backing a team that has already proven capable of winning this matchup without her.
New York’s home court and desperation make a Liberty victory entirely possible, but Atlanta does not need to win outright. The Dream have consistently dictated this matchup and have already demonstrated that their defense and depth can travel into a close game.
Dream vs. Liberty Best Bet - Game 3
- Pick: Dream +3.5 (-110) Click here to get the best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
Atlanta has earned more respect than this number suggests after winning four consecutive meetings with New York. With Gray potentially returning and the Dream already capable of beating the Liberty without her, +3.5 offers enough cushion in what should be another competitive elimination game.
