Golden State has flipped the regular-season matchup completely, following a 71-60 Game 1 win with an 83-81 victory Wednesday. Las Vegas erased a 17-point deficit and briefly took the lead late before Veronica Burton’s clutch 3-pointer pushed the Valkyries ahead for good.
The Aces now return to Michelob ULTRA Arena in a true elimination game. Las Vegas swept Golden State 3-0 during the regular season and has considerably more experience navigating this stage of the postseason.

Golden State has controlled the series through defense, depth and rebounding. The Valkyries dominated the glass 52-25 in Game 1 and won the rebounding battle again Wednesday, while Tiffany Hayes provided 21 points off the bench in Game 2.
Gabby Williams added 20 points, and Burton delivered the biggest shot of the night with 41 seconds remaining. Golden State has shown impressive composure for a relatively inexperienced playoff group and enters Game 3 one victory from the Finals.

The first two games have exposed a legitimate problem for Las Vegas on the glass. Golden State destroyed the Aces in rebounding in Game 1 and still held the advantage in Game 2, giving the Valkyries valuable second-chance opportunities and preventing Las Vegas from controlling possessions.
Game 2 also showed why this series may look different in Las Vegas. The Aces spent most of the night chasing the game but still erased a 17-point deficit behind Wilson, Gray and Young before losing by two. That late push gives them considerably more momentum entering their first home game of the series than the 0-2 record suggests.
Experience matters more in this spot than it did during the first two games. Las Vegas has won three of the past four WNBA championships and is built around players accustomed to elimination games, while Golden State is still navigating its first deep postseason run.
