14 UFC contracts have been handed out through the first four weeks of this season’s Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS), and at least one fighter (Bo Nikal) has been invited back on for later in the season. Following an initial somewhat docile week with little in the way of finishing, the weeks that have followed have had no shortage of action as Dana White’s message has come through loud and clear on what it takes to earn that coveted contract.

Let’s take a closer look at where week 5’s action is headed.

Rayanne Amanda (+210) vs. Denise Gomes (-260) Prediction

A women’s strawweight fight will get us started this week as a pair of Brazilian fighters in Denise Gomes and Rayanne Amanda will go at it. For Amanda, she will step into the octagon with a professional record of 11-5 having won her past four straight all inside of the distance to earn her spot on DWCS.

For Gomes, a training partner of current UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade and bantamweight contender Karol Rosa, she’s been training in Las Vegas now for a few years and has amassed a pro record of 5-1-0 as of Tuesday.

With four of her five wins coming inside of the distance, most recently with the esteemed Invicta FC, I like for Gomes to get it done tonight at the Apex.

Amir Gogoladze (-300) vs. Darius Flowers (+240) Prediction

Two guys with a combined 33 professional MMA fights will step into the octagon on Tuesday as welterweights Amir Gogoladze and Darius Flowers will go head to head. For Gogoladze, he’ll be stepping in on a three-fight win streak having won nine of his last 10, finishing his last three foes in the very first round.

As for Flowers, a three-fight win streak of his own will be on the line in what will be his third fight this calendar year, his last two in the LFA promotion. With this likely being the last chance for both fighters to earn their spot in the UFC via DWCS, expect both motivated to end this one early.

Look for the more experienced and bigger fighter in Gogoladze to get there.

Mick Parkin (+210) vs. Eduardo Neves (-260) Prediction

The main event of the evening tonight pits a pair of 5-0 heavyweights against one another as Mick Parkin takes on Eduardo Neves. For Neves, the 22-year-old Brazilian comes into this fight with three-straight first-round victories, the last two of which came in LFA, both within 64 seconds of the opening bell.

The 26-year-old Mick Parkin has a similar run to start his career but also has never gone the distance with all five wins coming inside of two rounds. In what I have as a much closer to even fight on paper, I’ll take the underdog Parkin in this one.
