Dana White's Contender Series: Season 6, Week 6 Start Time and Where to Watch

  • Date: Tuesday, August 30, 2022
  • Time: 8:00 p.m. EDT/5:00 p.m. PDT
  • Where: UFC Apex, Las Vegas, NV
  • Where to Watch: ESPN+

We are five weeks down in this season of Dana White’s Contender Series, and already 20 fighters have been signed to the roster as a result of their work. Now, ahead of UFC Paris this weekend, our attention turns to Week 6 of DWCS, as some of the best fighters of the season get their turn to impress the head honcho.

Let’s take a closer look at a few of the fights I’m keyed in on.

All Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

Yusaku Kinoshita (-200) vs Jose Henrique (+170) Prediction

Yusaku Konoshita opened as a -140 favorite in this fight, but I still think we are getting a bargain at -200. The coveted Japanese fighter comes into this fight at just 22 years old and with a record of 5-1, with his only loss coming via DQ for cage grabbing; a result that actually finished in a vicious KO for his opponent.

Jose Henrique also comes into this fight unbeaten with a record of 5-0, four of which ended inside of the distance. He’ll also have the size advantage in this fight standing at 6’4”, having a ton of future potential in the welterweight division.

From what I’ve seen on tape, I like Kinoshita to take this one and take one step closer to becoming the UFC’s long coveted Japanese star.

Yusaku Kinoshita vs Jose Henrique Pick

Pick: Yusaku Kinoshita -200 (Bet $200 to win $100)

Rodrigo Lidio (+200) vs Mateusz Rebecki (-240)

A veteran of the fight game, Rodrigo Lidio comes into this fight at 33 years of age with a record of 12-2, including a four-fight win streak; all of which came inside the distance against quality opponents. Despite training at a Jiu-Jitsu gym, 10 of Lidio’s 12 professional wins have come via KO/TKO.

As for Rebecki, the Poland native comes into this fight with a record of 15-1, having not lost a fight since September 2014 and currently on a 12-fight win streak. Prior to a November decision win, you had to go all the way back to January 2017 for a fight Rebecki had not ended inside the distance.

A FEN lightweight champion now for years, Rebeck is the rightful favorite in this one and I think we see him put on a performance for the ages.

Rodrigo Lidio vs Mateusz Rebecki Pick

Pick: Mateusz Rebecki -240 (Bet $240 to win $100)

Blake Bilder (+180) vs Alex Morgan (-210)

A pair of experienced featherweights will get things started on Tuesday night as CFFC champ Blake Bilder is set to take on Alex Morgan in a clash between two guys whose time is running out on getting their UFC contract. At 31 years old, Morgan comes into this fight having won four of his last five, with his only loss coming against current UFC fighter Charles Jourdain.

As for Bilder, who is 32 years old despite having just seven professional fights, the current CFFC champion comes into this fight with a record of 6-0-1, with four of his wins coming inside of the distance. While Morgan has attracted the majority of the action since opening up at -145, I’m in more agreement with oddsmakers than bettors and have this one closer to even than current odds suggest.

Blake Bilder vs Alex Morgan Pick

Pick: Blake Bilder +180 (Bet $100 to win $180)
