Dana White's Contender Series Season 6, Week 8: Betting Data, Odds, and Preview
We are nearing the end of a great season of Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) as we are on to week eight of 10. With another 10 fighters scheduled to step into the octagon with a chance for a UFC contract on the line, let's take a closer look at where I think the value lies as fight night quickly approaches in Las Vegas.Â
When: September 13, 8:00 PM EDT
Where: UFC Apex, Las Vegas, NV

Marnic Mann (+140) vs. Bruna Brasil (-165)
Having won six straight fights with five coming inside the distance, Bruna Brasill will step into the octagon Tuesday with a professional record of 7-2-1. Worth noting, that her only two losses have come against now-established professionals in UFC fighter Ariana Carnelossi and Invicta FC champion Jessica Delboni.Â
Her opponent, Marnic Mann, steps into the cage with a record of 5-0 on Tuesday, with four coming inside the distance. One of those wins came via a former DWCS fighter in Pauline Macias, a third-round submission.Â
In this one, I think the more tested Brasil is undervalued at anything less than -200.
Pick: Bruna Brasil -165 (Bet $165 to win $100)
Malik Lewis (-200) vs. Trevor Peek (+170)
A pair of undefeated lightweights will square off in this one, as Germany’s Malik Lewis takes on Trevor Peek as someone will likely leave this one unconscious. For Lewis, all five wins have come inside the distance, as the Jackson-Wink MMA product has stopped all five inside of two rounds.
As for Peek, his six professional wins have all been impressive (and inside the distance), with three of them coming in the first round. The last time we saw him inside the cage was a win over Khama Worthy, a former lightweight UFC fighter only recently cut from the roster.Â
With no fights that have gone to a decision between the two, expect fireworks in this one and for Lewis to be on the right side of them.
Pick: Malik Lewis -200 (Bet $200 to win $100)
Allan Begosso (+245) vs. Farid Basharat (-295)
The main event of this week’s DWCS is a bantamweight bout between two of the hottest prospects at 135 pounds Farid Basharat and Allan Begosso. For Basharat, he’ll be looking to follow in his brother Javid’s footsteps, having been signed to the UFC last year.Â
As for the younger brother we’ll see here, Farid is a perfect 8-0 through eight fights, with six of those wins coming inside the distance.Â
His opponent will be a difficult one here, however, as Begosso comes in with a 7-1-1 record with his only loss coming via decision in an LFA title fight. With each of these fighters likely seeing the UFC at some point, this fight could be one of the best this season has seen yet.Â
While Begosso’s grappling is of concern, I think we see these two stand and throw, making this fight much closer to even. I’ll take the +245 here while it lasts.Â
Pick: Allan Begosso +245 (Bet $100 to win $245)
