It was an electric UFC 280 card last week. This week, the UFC returns to its home at the UFC Apex, for the featherweight main event between Calvin Kattar and Arnold Allen. Let’s take a closer look at two prop bets I’m keyed in on for this card.
ANALYSIS

UFC Fight Night Predictions, Picks: Prelim Best Bets | Kattar vs. Allen

It was an electric UFC 280 card, as two titles were won (and retained) at the top of what was a great afternoon of fights. This week, the UFC returns to its home at the UFC Apex for UFC Fight Night, with both the prelim and main card available for free to subscribers on ESPN+.

With the action getting underway around 4 PM EST and going all the way through to the featherweight main event between Calvin Kattar and Arnold Allen, let’s take a closer look at two prop bets I’m keyed in on for this UFC Fight Night card.

Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Andrei Arlovski Prediction

Date: Saturday, October 29

Time: 4:00 pm ET

Where to Watch: ESPN+

Click Here for Rogerio de Lima vs. Arlovski Odds

The 43-year-old Andrei Arlovski, who enters this bout on a four-fight winning streak and has won six of his last seven fights, is well-respected in the betting markets, which I think is incorrect. Since 2015, Arlovski has relied on the judges to determine the winner of every fight he has won, which is practically unheard of in the heavyweight category.

He now faces Rogerio de Lima, a fighter who probably won't let him get comfortable like he has been doing during his current run. Rogerio de Lima has won 85% of his fights thus far in his career inside the distance, and he enters this battle with advantages in knockdowns, accurate striking, and absorbing fewer shots.

Additionally, Rogerio de Lima has a significant advantage in takedowns (3x) and submissions (2x). I predict Rogerio de Lima to win this fight, almost certainly within the distance, in large part because he has more opportunities to win and the capacity to push up the pace.

Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Andrei Arlovski Pick

Pick: Marcos Rogerio de Lima - Inside the Distance -120. Bet $100 to collect $183. Best odds available at FanDuel (click here)

Phil Hawes vs. Roman Dolidze Prediction

Date: Saturday, October 29

Time: 4:00 pm ET

Where to Watch: ESPN+

Click Here for Hawes vs. Dolidze Odds

Phil Hawes and Roman Dolidze, two middleweights on a roll with a combined two UFC losses, will square off Saturday in the Apex. Eighty percent of their cumulative UFC victories have so far been inside the distance going into this bout, so I anticipate a similar outcome when they meet.

Hawes has won his last two fights and five of his previous seven by way of KO/TKO; the other two were decisions in which he had many opportunities to finish off his opponent. With the exception of three decisions from 2020–2021, all of Dolidze's prior professional fights have ended by submission or TKO.

I don't anticipate this bout to result in what would be just the seventh judge's scorecard decision in the 26 professional fights between these two.

Phil Hawes vs. Roman Dolidze Pick

Pick: Either Fighter Inside the Distance -125 Bet $100 to collect $180. Best odds available at FanDuel (click here)
