There was once upon a time when it seemed like the sky was the absolute limit for one Jordan Leavitt. From bodying his Contender Series Combatant ions ago to demolishing Matt Wiman in sub-60-second fashion for his UFC debut, it's no secret that any and all hype generated for Leavitt was well and truly justified up until this point.
Even in losses to Paddy Pimblett and Claudio Puelles, Jordan has shown that he can slug it out and make it competitive with even the upper echelon of the Ultimate Fighting Championship's most stacked division. The consensus to me is that when all else fails you can still count on him to stick around all the way to the bitter end.

"The Monkey King" goes against Victor Martinez this Saturday afternoon. The Fortis MMA standout is finally making his own debut inside of the UFC, being almost two whole years removed from his upset victory against Jacob Rosales on the Contender Series back in 2021.
Although allegedly possessing a black belt, the fact of the matter is that Martinez gives up his back almost on command every time a scramble is forced upon him, something that is going to play in Leavitt's favor dramatically given his penchant for all things grappling and rear naked choking. What concerns me about Victor's game is that he is a Jack of all trades master of none, not being particularly skilled in any martial arts craft or power punching pedigree to add insult to injury.
If Martinez cannot command the respect of low-tier Leavitt with equalizing striking capabilities, I fear that when it comes down to brass tacks he is going to get taken down and manhandled on the floor early and often. When the dust inevitably clears and the cows do in fact come home, give me Jordan "The Monkey King" Leavitt to single leg the debutant Victor Martinez from opening bell to closing, either securing a submission victory or lopsided unanimous decision dub on the scorecards.
