ANALYSIS

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Fight Pick: Don't Miss This +240 Prediction

On February 26th, 2023 Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will finally meet in the ring after multiple delays. It has been a while since this fight was originally scheduled to take place, with Tommy Fury having to back out for visa reasons. Now, the two will meet in Saudi Arabia in the Diriyah Arena to settle the beef. Jake Paul is the -165 favorite to win as the books expect "the problem child" to come out on top.

Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury Prediction

Paul may have entered boxing as a joke, but he has put in the effort to master his technique and become a skilled boxer. While Paul's opponents may not have been top-notch, he has fought tougher competition than Fury. Although most of his competition has been past their prime, He has beaten Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, both retired MMA legends. So even if they weren't pro boxers, they were top-notch professional fighters.

The knock on Paul is that he hasn't fought a "real" boxer yet, but has Fury? His opponents before his last fight had a 14-175 combined record. He has been fed can after can to inflate his record to 8-0 without facing any decent boxer with a winning record. If anything, Paul is the most "real" boxer Fury will have fought yet. I keep hearing that Paul is finally facing a real boxer, but if anything, this is Fury's biggest test to date.

Although Fury has raw athleticism and comes from a boxing family, he can swing wildly and leave his chin exposed. On the other hand, Paul keeps his chin tucked and is a more methodical striker. While Fury has more "pro" experience than Paul, he hasn't had the same level of eye-catching results.

The fight will be a test for both fighters, as neither has ever faced a legitimate pro boxer before. However, Paul has been on bigger platforms and has had more impressive results. His knockouts of Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley were all spectacular, even if they were against MMA fighters past their prime.

Although Paul's biggest test came against Silva, who was nearing 50, Silva was still a true MMA legend, and Silva also was 3-1 in boxing leading up to the fight with a win against a former boxing champion. It will be interesting to see how Paul responds when he gets hit in the face by a legitimate boxing professional, but I believe he will survive and land some massive punches.

Paul has been improving and working hard at his craft, while Fury's opponents have been lacking. Although this fight has been delayed multiple times, it will finally happen today. I predict that Paul will continue to mark himself as one of the top PPV attractions in the sport and come out on top. This is the win he needs to mark himself as a "legitimate" boxer, and I think he silences a lot of doubters today. If you told me I would be betting on Jake Paul to win a professional boxing fight three years ago today, I would have laughed, but here we are.
