JON JONES VS. CIRYL GANE ODDS

FighterOdds
Jon Jones-175
Ciryl Gane+150

Before we dive into the parlay and prop pick, have a look at the moneyline odds for this showdown between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane. Jones is a sizable favorite at -175, while Gane comes back at +150 to get his hand raised.

JON JONES VS. CIRYL GANE DraftKings PARLAY

Jon Jones to Win + Over 3.5 Rounds (+110) Bet $100 to collect $210 Get the best odds at DraftKings; click here to bet

Instead of laying the juice with Jon Jones on the moneyline, we can take an alternative route and get a better payout if we add a caveat. We’ll still be taking Jones to win the fight; however, we’ll say that the bout lasts at least 17.5 minutes. This leaves us with Jones to win by decision or a late-round knockout or submission.

Both Jones and Gane have displayed fantastic stamina throughout their careers. These are not the guys that go in there hunting for knockouts, using their whole gas tank in the first round. I’m expecting a feeling-out process throughout the first round – especially with the three-year layout for Jones.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Jones has seen 10 of his 26 professional fights go the distance, including his last three. As for Gane, four of his 12 professional fights have gone the distance, including his title fight with Ngannou. It’s clear that Gane is the real deal, but he doesn’t rush things on the big stage. I still expect Jones to win, and I think it’ll be a decision victory or a late-round finish.

JON JONES VS. CIRYL GANE Prop Pick

Jon Jones to Win by Submission in Round 4 (+3500) Bet $100 to collect $3,600 Get the best odds at DraftKings; click here to bet

My lottery ticket parlay for tonight’s main event is that Jon Jones will win by submission in the fourth round. We’ve seen Ciryl Gane handle the “knockout artists” in the Heavyweight Division simply by using his athleticism to outmaneuver them, eventually finding a knockout combo or winning by points. However, in his title fight with Francis Ngannou, the Cameroon-born fighter dominated Gane on the canvas, securing four takedowns and 8:29 worth of ground control.

Gane’s wrestling is clearly one aspect of his game that can be exposed, and Jon Jones has the skill set to exploit that. Jones is an NJCAA national champion from his collegiate days at Iowa Central Community College and boasts a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The American is averaging 1.85 takedowns per 15 minutes and landing at a 44% success rate.

As I mentioned above, I think we see this fight begin slowly before crescendoing into more active later rounds. That’s when I expect Jones to slip in submission and secure the Heavyweight belt.
