The battle between two guys who appear to have misspelled names goes down this Saturday. The No. 3 and No. 4 135ers in the UFC will face off in Las Vegas, Nevada, in what should be a banger of a scrap. As with all Petr Yan fights, this fight will knee a lot of careful consideration. Get it? Because of the illegal knee, he threw that one time. Anyway, let's get into it.

Petr Yan is a former champion that has truly faced the best the division has to offer and is one of the most well-rounded fighters in the UFC. However, he has had worse luck than 2019 Leon Edwards lately. In 2022 he dropped two razor-thin decisions to Aljamain Sterling and Sean Goat'Malley. While many fans claim one, if not both, of these fights, were robberies, I am a Hall of Fame hater and can confirm that both decisions were correct. Merab is best known for being Aljamain Sterling's friend. This may not sound relevant, but Aljo follows me on Twitter, so this could play a huge factor. Merab pulled off a total jerk move and ruined Jose Aldo's retirement fight in a decision win last August. Literally, nobody wanted that to happen.

In all seriousness, the odds of this fight are a little farther apart than I expected. Yan currently sits as a -215 favorite. That puts Merab as a +200 underdog, and while that seems attractive, I refuse to bet on any fighter whose last name I can't spell. Merab Divalishvily doesn't have a chance, and I am putting two units on the Petr Yan moneyline.
