This Saturday, the UFC looks to once again place itself at the forefront of anything and everything Mixed Martial Arts, as in the epicenter of it all, "King" Casey O'Neill trades heavy leather with everyone's favorite journeywoman, Jennifer Maia. O'Neill comes into the fray a perfect 9-0, with her only blemishes being that on the regional amature circuit when she was under the legal age and overall stature to add insult to injury.

Jennifer Maia vs. Casey O'Neill Prediction
Maia is basically the Derek Brunson of women's flyweight, never amounting to so much as sniffing the gold but taking out newcomers and oldheads alike with great and powerful disdain. Essentially what it boils down to is that if you are anyone looking to become champion any time soon, more often than not, you are going to have to go through Jennifer, as she is about as legit a test as any at 125 pounds.
Can O'Neill pull out the W over such a scrappy worthwhile test? To be honest, the answer isn't exactly binary. On one hand, O'Neill is Uber talented and, clearly, one of the leading prospects in the division, as evidenced in her submission victory on blackbelt Laura Precopio and TKO finish over acclaimed striker Antonina Shevchenko.
The problem I see when facing Maia is that Jennifer is great in just about every department of martial arts, unlike the specialists that Casey has faced and been able to exploit in the past. The last Jack of all trades fighter O'Neill shared the ring with was Roxanne Modaferris, where the Scottswoman looked rather flat and almost lost a spit decision.
That being said, because the bout is in a relatively neutral town combined with the youthful momentum that Casey rides being still undefeated with the solid Extreme Couture camp right in her corner leads me to believe that she should secure the win (and the bag) over Maia, as even if the Brazilian makes it close, the judges should no doubt home-cook the scores in favor of "King" Casey O'Neill.
