Jake Paul is back in action this weekend as he fights Ryan Bourland in a Cruiserweight bout that will serve as the co-main event under the Serrano versus Mikey championship fight in San Juan, Puerto Rico Saturday night. This is an eight-round bout that will serve as Jake Paul’s tenth professional boxing fight.

Jake Paul vs. Ryan Bourland Prediction
Jake Paul enters this fight with an 8-1 boxing record. He has taken down former UFC fighters/big names like Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren. His only loss is a split decision against Tommy Fury. Paul knocked Fury down in round eight and had a back-and-forth fair with him, but ultimately fell on two of the three judges' scorecards. Ryan Bourland enters this fight with a 17–2 record in boxing. He was recently retired after 2018 before returning in 2022 against Santario Martin and beat him by TKO. This will be his first fight in nearly 2 years as he comes back once again against Jake Paul. Bourland has never fought in a championship but will be expected to be a tough test for Paul as he has the best boxing record of anyone he has faced so far. Both fighters are bringing a unique aspect to this fight. On the one hand, Ryan Bourland has been extremely inactive as he has come out of retirement for this fight and has only fought one time since 2018. He is also 35 years old and is near the end of his career. As a 35-year-old who has one fight in nearly six years, you can see why there may be a little bit of ring rust for Bourland this weekend. On the other hand, Jake Paul has been much more active and he is also eight years younger at just 27 years of age. Paul fought three times in 2023 and has been in the ring four times since Bourland's last fight. Paul has more power in his shots and will be the aggressor in this fight as I think Bourland will look to make this fight go as far as possible to try and drain Paul’s gas tank and beat him in the later rounds. With Jake Paul being as high a favorite as -3500, there is absolutely no value in taking him on the money line. Jake Paul is -750 to win by knockout, which also holds little to no value. Where I see the value in this fight is taking Jake Paul by decision. Ryan Bourland has only been knocked out once in 19 professional boxing fights, and Jake Paul has won five of his fights by knockout. He has also failed to knock out, Nate Diaz, Anderson, Silva, and Tyron Woodley in his wins over those former UFC stars.
Given that Bourland will be the fighter with the most boxing experience that Jake Paul has fought, I think he will bring a calculated approach to this fight and not go for broke hunting for the knockout. I think he will play this fight smart and look to win by whatever means possible, without overextending, exposing himself, and getting knocked out.
