It's estimated that nearly 330 million people watched the fight globally, certainly boosted by Pacquiao's fans in the Philippines.
But that was then and this is now, 10 years and two months later. Somehow, someway, Manny Pacquiao is getting back in the ring. He is a whopping 46 years old, and is set to fight Mario Barrios in Las Vegas, a man 16 years younger than him.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios Prediction
The sportsbooks are pricing Pacquiao at just +210, claiming he has an implied chance of around 33% to win this fight. That seems way too generous in this situation, and may be a bit embellished to entice more bettors to take the legendary fighter when he's clearly overmatched.
This whole saga is a litte ridiculous. To parade Pacquiao out into the ring after fighting just one time in the last six years is a bit much. Whether he's looking for another moment in the limelight, or in desperate need of a payday, Pacquiao is much too old to be getting punched in the head by a 30-year-old world champion.
Barrios has six inches of height on Pacquiao, and another four inches of reach. He's younger, in better shape, more physically gifted, and as long as he doesn't let Pacquiao inside, he should make quick work of him. It's going to be a long night in Las Vegas for the veteran, unless it turns into a hugging fest like the Mayweather fight. We saw similar things in the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul spectacle last year, with a limited amount of true boxing to avoid a case of elder abuse.
Manny Pacquiao was one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world at a time. But that time has since come and gone, and he should be more worried about avoiding injury in this fight than trying to win it. Barrios is not a random fighter either, he's 29-2 with one of the only losses in an 11-round brawl with Gervonta "Tank" Davis in 2021. Pacquiao may claim to have some tricks up his sleeve, but surviving the full 12 rounds may be the best thing he can accomplish here. We don't expect to see this go the distance, as Barrios should find a way to use his size and age advantage to score a TKO against Pacquiao at some point in the later rounds.
