This Saturday night, the heavyweight division is set to witness an electrifying clash as Oleksandr Usyk defends his IBO, WBO, and WBC heavyweight titles against the hard-hitting British contender Daniel Dubois. Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, made the leap to heavyweight with impressive success, solidifying his place at the top of the division by defeating Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury twice each.
Revered for his incredible footwork, ring IQ, and technical mastery, Usyk has proven that he’s more than capable of taking on the giants in boxing’s premier division. At 38, he is still the man to beat, and will look to showcase his skillset again tonight at Wembley Stadium.
Dubois, on the other hand, is an up-and-coming powerhouse who is eager to prove that he belongs in the conversation with the elite heavyweights. The 27-year-old has earned a reputation for his devastating knockout power, with 21 of his 22 victories coming by stoppage. He may be a solid underdog after losing to Usyk already in 2023, but his heavy hands give him a chance to land a killer blow at any time.

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois Fight Records
Oleksandr Usyk (23-0)
Oleksandr Usyk is on top of the boxing world, and has been for several years. He's been the unified heavyweight champ since 2021, and has never lost a professional fight. He took down both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury twice, handing them each the only two losses of their careers.
Daniel Dubois (22-2)
Daniel Dubois has only lost twice in his career, once to Usyk two years ago, and once to Joe Joyce in 2020. He was taken out by a fractured eye socket in that first loss. In the last meeting with Usyk in August 2023, he was knocked out in the ninth round.
Dubois has won three in a row since, including a defeat of Anthony Joshua last September. He will now attempt to get revenge against Usyk and steal the belt away from the 38-year-old vet. He's 11 years younger, and his increased experience since the last bout may give him a fighting chance. Regardless, he's still a big underdog.
Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois Prediction
While Dubois brings plenty of raw power and has the potential to score an upset with one solid punch, Usyk’s technical ability, experience, and ring craft should ultimately be too much for the British challenger. Usyk is known for being able to adjust his game plan, control the distance, and outbox opponents over the long haul. Dubois may have moments of success early, especially if he’s able to land a heavy shot, but Usyk’s agile movements and counterstrike chances will likely neutralize those moments as the fight progresses.
Usyk has a strong track record of boxing at a high pace over the course of a full fight, often wearing down his opponents with movement and precision. However, Dubois’ power means this fight could end earlier if he lands a solid shot. The expectation is that Usyk’s defense and footwork will help him evade most of Dubois’ power, likely leading the fight to the later rounds. Bettors are leaning toward the over 9.5, suggesting that Usyk will dominate over time and win by decision or late stoppage.
If you're looking for an exact method of victory, consider Usyk to win by decision at +185. This is the most logical outcome based on Usyk’s boxing prowess and ability to avoid major danger. He’s not a knockout artist in the traditional sense at heavyweight, but his skillset should be too refined for Dubois to overcome over 12 rounds. Expect Usyk to control the pace and pick Dubois apart with jabs, movement, and smart exchanges, ultimately taking the win on the scorecards.
While Usyk scored the knockout in the ninth round last time, we are expecting this one to go a bit longer. He's two years further away from his prime at age 38 now, and may play a more defensive game to prevent any kill shots from the rapidly improving Dubois. Expect him to dance around a bit and make this fight last, thus reaching over the 9.5 total rounds and likely heading for a decision victory, as seen in nearly half of his bouts.
