Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I bring you the clash between one debutant Chris “Braveheart” Duncan, and the great “Venezuelan Fighter” Omar Morales. Meme nicknames aside, it is very much clear from the get-go what the UFC is trying to accomplish in this spot situated right outside of the heart of the prelims. While Morales is no slouch in any department and nowhere near a bum in the grand scheme of things, the man has devolved into a glorified punching bag only kept around as enhancement talent for the bottom echelon onward.
If you look at his past three opponents, all have shockingly culminated straight out of the Contender Series, as Morales had previously inhabited years prior to his current situation. In an act of cruel irony, what once was his saving grace in the UFC has now mutated and devolved into his putrid detriment. Omar has been relegated to the role of perennial jobber to get the future crop of fighters ready inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While perhaps having the skill advantage over Duncan, the youth and all-around vigor combined with it being taken place in the midst of Duncan's backyard leads me to believe that the side definitely resides with the Scotsman to get it done.
Even though I will no doubt be sprinkling on Chris Duncan outright, I am still waiting for a better price on his moneyline. While all of that is being sorted, however, bet on the over 1.5 rounds. The toughness of Duncan combined with the savvy vet tenacity of Morales will lead to either a late fight, a third-round finish, or a judge's decision being read when it's all said and done.
