Many anticipated Kamaru Usman to provide a similar performance as the first time when he faced Leon Edwards again in the first encounter. Still, this time, Usman's UFC welterweight title was on the line. Edwards, on the other hand, had different intentions and became the first UFC fighter to take down Usman in the first round.

The "Nigerian Nightmare" went on to dominate the next three rounds with his superior takedown game, and this continued in round five. I expect another back-and-forth fight between two guys clearly more evenly matched than many thought and for this one to go the distance.

The second match between Edwards and Usman in August 2022 made it clear to expect chaos in this third meeting. First off, Edwards can hold his own against Usman in both the striking and grappling departments since, in addition to being able to take Usman to the ground for the first time in his career, he also made threats to submit Usman, particularly in the first round.

Usman put on a masterclass performance in the following three and a half rounds with his unrelenting pressure, precise striking, and superior grappling abilities. Still, he paid a heavy and painful price for his aggression by getting knocked out and losing his belt.

The third point is that Edwards can knock Usman out, confirmed, as demonstrated by the shocking fifth-round knockout that rocked the MMA community. Edwards' ability to set up combinations and his amazing welterweight speed allowed for the now-famous knockout.

I think because of this, Dolidze is flying under the radar and is a real middleweight belt contender no one is talking about. With edges across the board in striking and on the ground, I think the Georgian can edge out a close win here.
